Bad news for BJ Ryan owners as he went on the DL with a sore shoulder and back. Sounds like a sore ego. I think the Blue Jays want to give him some time to rest and get back to where he was. I have no doubt he will be back on time when he is eligible to get off the DL.

For now, get Scott Downs and possibly Jason Frasor. Both RP's have been great this year and both should see opportunities. Downs is a lefty, while Frasor is a righty. They could work match ups in the bullpen till Ryan returns.

I'm no longer high on BJ Ryan. If someone is willing to trade for him, consider exploring it. However, don't sell him cheap. He has the capabilities to come back and give you 35 saves.
