Finally it's done. I banked on it all the last few weeks and Jose Valverde is a Tiger. The signing closes out the final free agent closer on the market and brings a proven veteran to Tigers bullpen.

 The signing will move Joel Zumaya back to the setup role where he is best served. Valverde has good stuff and should flourish against the much more impatient bats that crowd the American League. Expect a good number of blown saves, but by the end of the season, Valverde will put some great numbers up.

Draft Valverde with confidence and consider the move to the Detroit Tigers and the American League a good thing for him.
