The Closer Report: June 4, 2010
SAVES:
Jonathan Broxton (14) - Broxton continues to rack up saves at a furious rate. He matched Brian Wilson with 11 pitches and two strikeouts.
Brian Wilson (14) - Wilson saved his tenth save in a row with outstanding innings. Only 11 pitches and two strikeouts for the again established elite closer.
Neftali Feliz (15) - Feliz recorded his second save of the month and his seventh in a row. He also struck out two battes bringing his strikeout total to 28. His WHIP is now at a season low 0.95.
Matt Lindstrom (12) - Finally! After two straight MATT Vs. MATT blown saves, Lindstrom got back on the wagon and secured his 12th save of the season. It was a gorgeous save, eight pitches and a strikeout.
Francisco Rodriguez (11) - KROD got back on the horse and recorded his 11th save of the season. He did put a couple of runners on before locking down the save. His consistency still worries me and until he locks in I'd worry if I owned him.

He faced the minimum three batters and struck out onward to the 3-2 save over the Padres.
Matt Capps (18) - Capps recorded his first save of the month and his first since May 28th. The saves were fast and furious for Capps, but recently they have slowed down. Since May 17, he has recorded only four saves, while blowing three. Tonight he gave p a couple of hits, while striking out one.
BLOWN SAVES:
Manny Corpas (BS2) - Corpas had a bad day. He gave up two runs on three hits and ultimately blew the save. He lacked control and missed his spots all day. He even hit Mark Reynolds with a pitch, which cost him a strikeout.
APPEARANCES:
Andrew Bailey - Bailey got beat up again and this time the culprit was the Minnesota Twins. He didn't blow a save, but took the loss giving up a run on two hits. THe good news was he did record two strikeouts and that is now three Ks in the last two innings for Bailey.
Carlos Marmol - Pinella continues to waste his young closer's arm. He brought him in again for 2/3 of an inning and struck out one.
Chad Qualls - Fell into a lucky win thanks to Manny Corpas. He did pitch well today.
